Weekend Moments: a blueberry-filled weekend

It was a beautiful fall weekend up north. The sun was shining and the air was warm with a cool, crisp breeze.

My husband made us some delicious blueberry waffles with the wild blueberries we picked & froze last month.
I just LOVE it when he cooks me breakfast!

On Saturday, the village was celebrating it's 4th annual blueberry and cranberry pie making contest, and I got to be involved in the scoring. Now that's a job I'd do for free any time!

And let me tell you, these Cree women certainly know how to bake pies!

It was a lot of fun.
I hope you had a lovely weekend.

ps: I very rarely get around to any maintenance on this here blog of mine, but this morning I made a new page (left side bar) giving some background about our big move up north... for those of you who may be wondering what on earth I'm doing up here : )

Thank you for adding that!
I was a little late to the game, finding you through my favorite little Canadian Tomorrow Emily.
I am so envious of your move to simplicity...such an amazing opportunity!

Lady you are living it up, I love that you scored a pie contest! And mark is the breakfast guy at my house, I look forward to the weekends for that reason!
