Photos from a rustic winter weekend

We spent our weekend in a cabin, deep in the woodsy wilderness.
No electricity, no showers or running water, just candlelight and some good company.... and a nice wood stove for warmth.

The snow is pretty deep in the woods, so you actually need snowshoes to walk around.

It gets dark just after 3pm up here now, it's ridiculous! You really have to get out and make use of daylight while you can.

It felt great to get away from the computer, phone and TV for a while.
We spent the evening playing board games and chatting over warm cups of tea by candlelight.
The only scary part was having to get up at night to go to the bathroom outside in the freezing cold darkness!
I'm happy to be back home now with all my little luxuries : )

I hope you had a lovely weekend too.

Sounds like a great little escape. I could use one of those. And you look adorable in your cold weather attire. I gotta say I'm jealous of all that snow you guys have. There is NOTHING here. It doesn't feel like winter at all.

It seems so cosy! I also love to get lost in the woods from time to time (no computer and no telephone feels so good on small doses :)
