Weekend Moments... Back home in Montreal

Well, this weekend started off good....

We flew back into Montreal Friday evening, and let me tell you, it is wonderful to be home again!
(we decided not to do the 2-day drive from up north in the end because we wanted more time here in the city)

Saturday was one of those great weekend days where nothing big really happens, but it is just perfect in its simplicity. We drank coffee and ate pastries from my favourite local patisserie, went for a long walk on the mountain, received some exciting parcels in the mail (hello new shoes from Madewell!), and generally just lazed around the house. It was fabulous!

But....
Zachary had been having a fever for the last few days. We didn't take it too seriously because he looked so well, and was still his usual playful self.
I mean, this is what he looked like when his temperature was 39 degrees (103 F)... not very sick looking!

But when he was still febrile after 72 hours, and without an obvious source, we decided to bring him to the Children's Hospital. We figured he might have a urinary tract infection.
And we were right - he does.
But it took most of the day on Sunday to find this out.
Waiting around the emergency room all day with your sick baby, surrounded by other sick babies, is not fun at all.

Poor little guy - he's such a trooper!

He's on antibiotics now and continues to look well, but if his fever isn't gone by tomorrow we have to go back to the hospital. Oh I pray it doesn't come to that! Wish us luck : )

***
I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend.

being a doctor doesn't really make it any easier when your child is sick. Hope he is on the mends and you will not need to return to the hospital.

Krystal, we're here on holiday for 3 weeks. We have an apartment here in Montreal, which is our real home. We live/work up north most of the time, but since it is a Native reserve we are provided a home to live in up there for free (which enables us to keep our apartment down south).
