Have a bright & sunny weekend everyone!

We're in New York City right now, staying at my sister-in-law's beautiful apartment in the financial district. It's a gorgeous area - the buildings are so old and interesting.
And I found mega-sized macaroons  at a nearby bakery.... they were obviously amazing!
Today... some shopping and central park, tomorrow we plan to check out Eataly. What's your favourite thing to do in NYC?
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I've never been (gasp!) so I'm just jealous! Wish you could send one of those macaroons via email. :) Have fun!

Financier's pastries are incredible! So hard to choose, but some of my favorite places here... momofuku ssam bar (and the attached sweets shop, milk bar) and momofuku noodle bar; Dirt Candy (veg), Prune, Northern Spy Food Co. (all east village area), Pure food and wine-vegan/raw (near union square), Balthazar (soho), Bouchon Bakery (their chocolate bouchon is to die for!) Doughnut Plant is totally decadent and fun. For coffee, Ost, Joe, 9th st espresso, Stumptown. Chelsea Market and the union square greenmarket also fun excursions. Have a fab weekend!

I love just sitting in Central Park, reading a book. I also love visiting the Central Park Zoo from time to time. My favorite places to eat actually have something in common - rice. One is just called "Rice" and it's wonderful. Delicious, creative, and budget-friendly (which, as you know, is rare in NYC!). My other fave is a dessert place called Rice to Riches. It serves JUST rice pudding but man, oh man, are they creative with flavors and toppings. It's AMAZING!!! I don't even really like rice pudding normally but I make it a point to stop at this place at least once any time I'm in NYC.

Have a great weekend!!!

I went to an "Eataly" in Bologna (Italy) and really loved learning about what the store/restaurant is about. Yvon and I stumbled into it when we were in NYC last month.
I really enjoyed this:

Also, there is a really cool artist in SOHO on Prince Street just up from Broadway (Dean and Deluca). He sells photographs of NYC that he has silkscreened on to NYC Subway Maps. I bought one, I thought they were so neat!

Enjoy the taste of free time in a magical city! xo

You are my first button, yea! Sounds like you are enjoying the big city; I regret that I haven't been back in awhile and should probably make plans to re-visit the city where dreams are made of sometime soon. Right now though, I will live vicariously through your post.
