Weekend Moments up north...

In true northern fashion, this weekend began with a huge snowstorm.
There's nothing quite like a mid-April blizzard to get the spirits up ; )

Needless to say, we spent the majority of the weekend indoors.
But I must say, it was pretty wonderful hanging out just the three of us.

^^I painted a chalkboard wall on the side of one of our kitchen cabinets, and I had fun playing with it all weekend.^^

And on Sunday morning we hosted a big brunch chez nous. There were 15 people coming so we made a ton of food in advance, plus everyone brought something as well, so there ended up being a ridiculous amount of food.
The chalkboard came in handy to write the ever-expanding menu on (and we just kept adding things to the list as people arrived with their dishes).

It was a great success!
But hosting that many people, with a baby in your arms, is exhausting.
So after everyone left, and the kitchen was (relatively) clean again, we all slept really, really hard.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

  1. One of my favorite things you blog about is when you get together with friends for food. There's something so magical about your photos, especially when there's others involved. It's a talent, because when I try to capture those moments it just looks awkward. But your posts always look like a magazine. There's something very organic and soothing about it.

    1. That's so sweet of you to say, T. Not that I agree with the part about you not bring able to capture the magic in your photos... Your photos are beautiful!

  2. that last photograph is pure heaven

  3. Aww! looks like a lovely weekend! xoxo

  4. Spiced poppy seed palmiers?! That sounds amazing. I love the menu on the chalkboard -- just another lovely touch to what looks like a lovely morning!
(And I agree -- those baby's feet are just precious.)

Any thoughts? I so love to hear from you!
