What's Growing in the Country Garden

the perfect shade of purple

Broccoli is so cute when it grows, don't you think?

Have you ever had fried zucchini flowers?

slim pickings on the blueberry front

very very sour grapes

and wild chamomile, my all time favourite!

So these pictures are from my parents garden in the country...  my balcony garden in the city is so much smaller than this.
One day I'll have a big one  though : )
Do you have a garden? What do you like to grow?

Hello Wonderful Weekend. It's so nice to see your pretty face again!

Aren't you happy it's Friday again?!
Tonight we are going to one of my favourite Montreal restaurants, O Thym, with some amazing friends that I haven't seen in way too long. Don't you just love seeing old friends again?

And for your weekend, in case you have a moment of boredom, here are some links...
  • Very cool vinyl - record art
  • a fabulous DIY chalkboard fridge
  • I really want to win this giveaway!
  • these rings make me hungry!
  • London's new bicycle rentals were modelled after the Canadian Bixie bikes!

Have a wonderful weekend!

A Little Bite of Paris

My parents just got back from vacationing in Paris, and they, of course, loved it! Who wouldn't, right?! Just like when I was little, they brought me back a small gift... a decadent box of confections from the lavish Foucher candy shop.
Everything that comes out of that city is so chic & sophisticated. You should have seen the way this box was wrapped, it felt like I was opening up a diamond engagement ring!

Oh how I love Paris!

Coolest Doodle Ever!

German installation artist, Heike Weber, is a master doodler. These incredible floors were hand drawn with a sharpie!!

Great New Bags (Bags that can fit stuff!)

Size is one of the things I look at in a bag... if it can't hold my SLR camera, there's no point in buying it, since I bring my camera everywhere!
These new high functioning handbags from Kate Spade would work just perfectly!

Salade Niçoise ~ My Favourite Supper Salad

I love everything about this salad... the contrast of colours, the heartiness, the fact that it originated in Nice... and of course, all the incredible tastes & textures. This is one satisfying salad!

Balloons To Make You Smile

Lately I find myself drawn to balloons.... real balloons, pictures of balloons, hot air balloons, balloons on t-shirts or coffee cups... anything. They are such an icon of happiness.
Even the spelling of the word itself is happy, b-a-l-l-o-o-n!

So for your Wednesday, here are some balloons to make you smile....

(necklace from Freshly Fig)

 (mug set from Swirly Garden)

(fabric pin by Blue Manatee Buttons)

(Print by Tim  Gorichanaz)

Nobody can be uncheered with a balloon
~ Winnie the Pooh

Have a happy hump day!

We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty. ~Maya Angelou

Weekend Moments - kicking back

Tired feet at 3:30 am, on St. Laurent street in Montreal

After a crazy night out of bachelorette-ing in the city,
I drove out to the country for some much needed R&R
.. and a snooze in this hammock.

This weekend's treasures included....
wild blueberries and birds nests

the first ripe blackberries of the season

floating on a rainwater pond

water lilies,

a ride on the back of my papa's motorcycle

and watching the sun set over the tall, overgrown cornfields.

I hope you all had great weekends and I wish you a smooth start to your week : )

Hooray for the Weekend!

Good Morning lovely people, and happy Friday to you!

I have a fun filled weekend up ahead. it's my husband's birthday on Saturday, and I have family memebers in town who are visting from Austria and Ireland. Can't wait to see them!

Oh and I have to share this...I discovered this nifty little gadget here that turns your regular photos into polaroids... it's a mini polaroid camera icon that you drag your photos into and out pops a polaroid...sound effects and all. You even have to wait a few minutes for the picture to "develop"! It's quite cute!
You can download the free program here.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. Here are some fun links....
