Canadian Outback Adventure

Here are some pictures from our canoe-camping trip last weekend. I've done plenty of car camping in my life, but I had never done anything like this before. We had to bring everything we needed to survive for 4 days in our backpacks. Water is too heavy to carry, so we had to boil lake water to drink. At night, we had to hang our food from trees to deter the bears. It was an incredible experience to say the least! Being out in the pristine wilderness is humbling and nourishing on a soul level. I honestly miss it already (although I'm happy to no longer have to wash my hair in cold lake water!).

What about you... are you an "outdoorsy" person, or does this kind of thing sound like torture to you?!

This looks so peaceful. I would love to go camping, I haven't been in so long. I feel as if there is no pressure on a camping adventure, its the best vacation!

I love Canada because it's just so beautiful! These picutures are awesome! I'm not really an outdoorsy girl but with this setting I might change my mind!

Portage is my worst enemy.

My idea of camping is a cabin-

I did it as a child but the though of doing it as a mom is unbearable.

Last year my husband had the idea of going camping and my youngest monkey says 'why would we stay in a tent if we could stay in a hotel'.
Could not have said it better myself.
This is the same monkey that rates hotels by room service.

Your photos are absolutely gorgeous-

Gorgeous photo's!! As Liz Lemon would say 'I want to go there.' What an experience! I love camping but I haven't done the backpacking kind. A long weekend in a tent with a grocery store down the road is about all I can handle :)
