Books To Read While Pregnant...

Pregnancy inevitably brings up a gazillion questions and concerns, and you have to be careful where you get your information from (there's a lot of questionable advice available out there!).

If I could recommend one book that I believe every pregnant woman should read it's Ina May's Guide To Childbirth. This book has given me tremendous self-confidence in my innate ability to bring a child into this world. I was pretty terrified of everything that could go wrong before I read this book (after all, I'm a doctor... I've seen my fair share of things going wrong in labour). But this book has left me feeling excited about my upcoming delivery. Bring it on - I can handle it!

Another great resource book for all your silly questions (which I'm sure everyone already knows about) is What to Expect When You're Expecting. It literally answers every possible question I could think of.

I'd also recommend this book, from my favourite kundalini yogi. It might be a bit alternative for some people, but I really enjoyed it.

I'm curious... if you're a mom, what did you read while you were pregnant or as a new mom?
Any suggestions?

I read Une naissance heureuse, by Isabelle Brabant. She's one of Quebec's pioneer in natural childbirth (if that's what you're going for!!) and her book was really helpful to me! It gave me the confidence that my body could accomplish the awesome task of giving birth! :)
