An apple-pickin', leaf-jumpin', jolly good time...

Despite a few bumps along the road, we had one of those perfect fall weekends. The sun was shining, the weather was warm (but with that just-right amount of autumn crisp in the air), and we drove out to the country to pick apples with some dearest of friends.

We had some car trouble along the way (an oil leak that almost destroyed our engine), and we missed our reservation for lunch at the orchard's adorable little creperie (and instead we ate hot dogs and fries at a roadside stand).... but we somehow managed to still make it to the orchard and pick a ton of apples.

Which is good, because we had our apple-pickin' boots on and we were in the mood for some apples!

And Zac was all over it! He loved holding the apples and trying to eat them. He wasn't a very good picker, mind you, but we let that slide ;)

And after that we drove over to my parents place and spent the rest of the weekend hanging out with my family in the country.

I feel so grateful to live in an area that has such breathtaking autumn scenery and colours. It's like nature's grand finale before winter takes over.

This is essentially Zac's first experience of fall (since he was born last November), and I love watching the wonder and amazement in his eyes as he takes it all in. The world is a pretty incredible place!

I hope you had a lovely weekend too.

I adore his smiles and bright blue eyes . The apples with so many leaves still attached are utterly adorable too!
